2025 Pencil on paper Framed - 95 x 128 cm Original artwork, white frame
This work explores the subtle tension between two adjacent fields of graphite. Though nearly identical, their differing tonal weight creates a shifting sense of depth, as if one surface recedes while the other advances. The rough edges resist containment, allowing the forms to feel both constructed and uncertain. Built through accumulation and reduction, the drawing transforms graphite from a descriptive medium into a spatial condition. The work invites sustained looking, where small variations in tone reveal an atmosphere that extends beyond the limits of the paper.
